GYROTONIC®

What is GYROTNIC® Methodology?

The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is an exercise modality that guides users to simultaneously stretch and strengthen muscles and tendons while also articulating and mobilizing the joints. Flowing movements massage the organs, and tighten connective tissue between bones.  This reshaping of the body  makes connections stronger at the joints where most injures occur.  The exercises are synchronized with corresponding breathing patterns, thus enhancing endurance, cardiovascular stimulation, and promoting neuro-muscular rejuvenation.

Unique to the

GYROTONIC EXPANSION

SYSTEM® is the three-dimensionality

of the movements.  GYROTONIC®

exercises are circular rather than linear

in nature and incorporate spiraling and

undulating motions on multiple

movement planes, which increase the

functional capacity of the spine

and keep the body’s energy

continuously flowing.

GYROTONIC® exercises

offer complete freedom of

movement. Exercises are

performed on the

Professional Pulley Tower, and the system is fully

adjustable to various body

types and strength levels. The

even and constant

resistance in the handle unit and pulley tower allows for therapeutic conditioning. However, it can be easily intensified to challenge the strong, and complement the needs of athletes. The circular, spiraling and undulating movements that characterize the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® help to increase the functional capacity of the spine, contributing to a spherical and three-dimensional awareness, resulting in increased.

Where did GYROTONIC® exercises come from?

Juliu Horvath created GYROTONIC® equipment after many years of intense study and self-exploration. He not only succeeded in repairing the bodily injuries that he sustained as a professional dancer using these new methodologies, but he also sought to create a system of exercises that anyone could perform, regardless of age or state of health.
